FAQ's
How do I sign up? How quickly can we start?
It starts with a phone call or submitting your contact information on my landing page. I will respond either by phone or email (your preference). After you activate your account, I will set up a brief meet-and-greet between you, your pet, and me. After that, you’re all set to schedule services.
Do you have personal references?
Yes, please see my “personal references” page. COMING SOON!
Are you bonded and insured?
Yes, I have specialized insurance for pet sitting & dog walking.
Do you discipline the dogs?
If a dog is being naughty, I will get them to sit and settle down until they are ready to start walking again. Yelling at a pet is not acceptable.
Do you give them treats?
Only with the owner’s consent.
How are my keys handled?
I store your keys in a small lockbox, tagging them with your pet’s name.
How do I pay for services?
Credit card payments can be made through my pet software.
Dog Walk FAQ’s
What is your price for dog walks?
You can view my prices on my website under Rates and Services. I offer premium dog-walking services and aim to keep my rates reasonable, given the level of service you’ll receive.
Can you walk my aggressive dog?
To ensure a calm and safe experience, I’m best suited for pets who are comfortable with handling and friendly in everyday situations.
Do you supply bags?
I will have bags with me; however, I will use the owner’s bags if they are attached to the leash.
Do you take them to the dog parks?
I do not take dogs to dog parks.
Do you listen to music or talk on the phone during walks?
Absolutely not. I may occasionally text a client if there is a pressing matter. Otherwise, I am focused on your dog the entire walk.
Do you let the dogs interact with other dogs while walking?
If your dog is friendly and the approaching dog is too, I will let them sniff each other. Generally, I will walk between your dog and the oncoming pups.
What is your cancellation policy?
Walking services can be canceled free of charge before 12pm the day prior to service. Cancellations made after 12pm the day prior or the same day are charged the full rate.
Pet Sitting has limited availability and requires payment in full at the time of booking. Holiday reservations can be canceled 7 days before the stay for a 50% refund. Non-holiday bookings must be canceled at least 7 days in advance for a full refund. No refund is given for cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice.
What do you do if there are freezing temps?
We go on much shorter walks with more indoor playtime.
Do you leave notes after the walk?
My software sends you updates via email as soon as I complete the walk. You can see the GPS map of where your dog walked, and I will tell you what they did (pee, poop, diarrhea, anything funny they did, progress they are making as a puppy, etc.) I will also attach occasional pictures!
How long are the actual walks?
I start the clock when I walk through your door. I am generally in and out within 2 minutes. I will then return with about 3-5 minutes left on the walk, which gives me time to get your pup back inside, clean them up if needed, replenish their water, etc. If I make it back a few minutes early, I will play with your dog for a bit to fill the requested time.
Pet Sitting FAQ’s
How does pet sitting work?
Kitty visits can be scheduled for 30 minutes and occur once or multiple times each day that you’re away.
Overnight Pet Sitting (12 hours + 2 dog walks). I will arrive in the evening, feed dinner, and take your dog out for a good night walk. In the morning, I will offer breakfast and take out for a good morning walk.
What if my trip runs long or my flight is delayed?
I will leave a two-day gap between accepting pet sitting jobs to allow for flexibility.
What if my pet needs to go to the veterinarian while I’m away?
If possible, I would set up a three-way call with your veterinarian clinic, me, and you to create a plan of care.
Why are you a great fit for pet and house sitting?
I take pride in being clean, organized, and respectful of your home. While caring for your pets, I’m also happy to water gardens and houseplants, keep litter boxes and feeding bowls clean, pick up after dogs, and help maintain your home’s normal lived-in appearance. Having been part of the Fort Collins community for over 35 years, I value trust and relationships—and I truly love caring for cats and dogs.
